So on our way home from the African store nearby where we had gone to do last minute shopping of some food items that we had ran short of.
T notices fire works being shot into the sky. As these were being displayed, he admires the beautiful rich diverse colors that transcends and sparkles in the dark starry sky.
So, he beckons on his sister seated right beside him at the backseat of the car, "oh my God!" He screamed out of excited.
"Look, look, (mentions her name), it's so beautiful " he continues to say.
The fireworks dissappear and reappears with so much brightness and loud noise.
He looked around and saw two other fireworks at different locations, being so loud with thunder like sounds. Their excitement knew no bounds.
So, we were at the traffic light junction waiting for the light to turn green. Just as it turns green, he said to me,
" mummy, mummy look, it's so beautiful, "
Me, sitting at the passenger's seat while my small daddy(hubby) drove. I barely heard him but as he reiterated my name(mummy) ,with my lackadaisical attitude and unbothered self(tired from a long day at work), I could not answer him.
Out of so much excitement T repeated his statement yet again.
I still did not budge.
That was how he as a matter of fact recited my statement... my motivational gold statement. Statement that me a whole mama always use to steer him up.
He used it back at me ...
He said to me," mummy, mummy don't be slow. time waits for no one, whatever you have to do, do it quick!"
Because of fireworks that I refused to look at.
Shortly afterwards, we arrived home and hubby parked the car. As we alighted from the car, I noticed T was still pissed at me for not looking at fireworks and at the same time he was still curious about them so he hurriedly slammed the doors and headed upstairs.
I was still calling him to come and help carry some items with him but before I could say Jack, he was upstairs.
So the rest of the family trailed behind with everyone carrying distributed items gotten from the African shop.
As soon as we got upstairs, we heard another sound.
This time, he was forced to grab my hands and he said, " mummy, here's another chance, use it wisely"
Ahn ahn...
Before he uses my words on me again, I sharply looked at the fireworks and said, "oh they are so beautiful " indeed they were.
